100,000 KRW Gift Certificate for Elementary Students,
200,000 KRW for Middle and High School Students
Wando County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 4th that it will provide entrance congratulatory funds to elementary, middle, and high school students entering schools within the county. Elementary school students will receive a Wando Love Gift Certificate worth 100,000 KRW, while middle and high school students will receive 200,000 KRW.
The recipients of this support are students entering elementary, middle, or high schools who are registered residents of Wando County. Applications can be submitted until the 14th, and guidance will be provided at schools when the new semester begins. If the student's guardian is a legal custodian or guardian and is listed together in the resident registration, the guardian may apply.
The congratulatory funds will be provided starting in April after an eligibility verification process. The county provided congratulatory funds to 918 students in 2023 and 769 students in 2024.
The county plans to implement various policies to strengthen public education and realize universal educational welfare. This entrance congratulatory fund support is expected to contribute not only to educational welfare but also to revitalizing the local economy.
County Governor Shin Woochul said, "I hope the entrance congratulatory funds will help reduce the educational expenses burden on parents and also contribute to revitalizing the local economy through the use of local currency," adding, "We will do our best to create an educational environment where students can fully pursue their dreams."
