New 'Public Procurement Manager' Certification Established in National Technical Qualifications
Aimed at Training Specialized Personnel
for the Expansion of Public Procurement
On the 4th, the government held a Cabinet meeting at the Government Complex Seoul in Jongno-gu, Seoul, and deliberated and approved the amendment to the "Enforcement Decree of the National Technical Qualifications Act" to establish the Public Procurement Manager as a national technical qualification category.
The Public Procurement Manager was created in response to field requests emphasizing the need to cultivate specialized personnel in this area as the scale of public procurement and the number of market participants increase. It is expected to play a significant role in public procurement consulting, inspection of procured goods, and supporting delivery tasks.
Through this amendment to the enforcement decree, the government set the Public Procurement Manager qualification as a single grade and established the certification criteria. These include possession of specialized knowledge and analytical skills related to public procurement, as well as the ability to perform and manage the procedures required throughout the entire public procurement process.
