Department of Electric Vehicles at Dong-Eui Science University, 6 Kia Motors Production Workers Passed
Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Young-do) announced on the 4th that five graduates from the Electric Vehicle Department in February 2025 and one graduate from February 2021 have been finally hired as production workers (engineers) at Kia Motors.
The Kia Motors production worker (engineer) recruitment was announced in December 2024, attracting over 100,000 applicants, with a final selection of 226 successful candidates.
The graduates from Dong-Eui Institute of Technology’s Electric Vehicle Department hired by Kia Motors are Shin Yong-woo (Class of 2021), Cha Young-jae (Class of 2023), Lee Gun (Class of 2021), Shin Min-seo (Class of 2018), Ban Sung-min (Class of 2017), and Moon Tae-hyun (Class of 2015). This year, a total of 78 students graduated from the Electric Vehicle Department, of whom 8 were hired by large corporations. It is expected that additional hires by large corporations will continue to occur.
Shin Yong-woo, who was hired by Kia Motors, said, “The excellent results from the automotive maintenance and production-related major education and activities such as capstone design that I learned in the department seem to have been the key to my final acceptance. Also, the scholarship I received through the BB21+ project supported by Busan City was very helpful in preparing for employment, and I am grateful to the Busan City officials who supported me.”
Park Jae-min, head of the Electric Vehicle Department at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, said, “The Electric Vehicle Department at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology is making efforts to help students find employment not only in automotive maintenance and large corporation production positions but also in fields such as public service. Next year, we will find every possible way to help more students than this year achieve their dreams and get hired at their dream companies.”

Established in 1995, the Electric Vehicle Department at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology has trained over 5,000 automotive professionals to date and is the only institution in the southeastern region to provide specialized education in electric vehicles and eco-friendly cars for industry. It actively carries out various workforce development projects such as Busan City’s ‘BB21+ Eco-friendly Vehicle Workforce Development Project,’ the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s ‘Work-Study Dual System for Enrolled Students,’ and the ‘Cheonghaejin University Project.’
