Osan-si Operates Intensive Application Period for 'Student Education Allowance' Until the 28th
For Elementary, Middle, and High School Students Below 50% of the Median Income
Osan City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 4th that it will operate an intensive application period for educational benefits for elementary, middle, and high school students until the 28th.
Educational benefits are a system that supports students facing economic difficulties to continue their studies stably. The eligible recipients are elementary, middle, and high school students whose recognized income is below 50% of the median income standard.
The recognized income standards are as follows: ▲1-person household 1,196,007 KRW ▲2-person household 1,966,329 KRW ▲3-person household 2,512,677 KRW ▲4-person household 3,048,887 KRW ▲5-person household 3,554,096 KRW ▲6-person household 4,032,403 KRW or less. Last year, 2,085 students received educational benefits.
The support items include educational activity support expenses, textbook fees, admission fees and tuition, after-school free course vouchers, educational informatization support (PC and internet communication fees), and graduation album fees. Elementary students receive 487,000 KRW annually, middle school students 679,000 KRW, and high school students 768,000 KRW. High school students can receive all textbooks included in the regular curriculum of their grade.

Applicants can apply in person by visiting the administrative welfare center at the address registered on their child's resident registration or apply online through 'Bokjiro' or the 'One-Click Education Expense System.'
