'Jungnang Haengbok Farm' Allotment Garden and Pear Tree Distribution
Applications accepted from 10 a.m. on March 4
288 garden plots and 125 pear trees available for lease
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) is leasing garden plots and pear trees at Jungnang Happy Farm (Farms 1 to 5) to residents.
This project was initiated to provide residents with opportunities to enjoy leisure time with their families, grow healthy food themselves, and interact with neighbors.
In particular, it is operated to allow residents, including children, to get closer to nature by directly touching soil and cultivating crops, offering a chance to experience nature-friendly activities even in the city. Additionally, an online social network (Band) will be operated to facilitate smooth communication among lessees.
The leasing targets a total of 413 plots: 288 garden plots and 125 pear trees. ▲Jungnang Happy Farm 1 (256-9 Sinnnae-dong) offers 130 garden plots ▲Jungnang Happy Farm 2 (423-43 Mangu-dong) offers 50 garden plots and 25 pear trees ▲Jungnang Happy Farm 3 (113-2 Mangu-dong) offers 108 garden plots ▲Jungnang Happy Farm 4 (San 32-1 Myeonmok-dong) offers 100 pear trees. This year, the number of garden plots has been expanded to allow more residents to participate.
Jungnang Happy Farm 5 accepts leasing applications only from institutions. Through a prior demand survey, leasing of 26 garden plots and 38 pear trees to 47 daycare centers has been completed.
Every year, there is high interest from residents; last year, the garden plots at Jungnang Happy Farm 1 recorded a competition rate of about 9 to 1.
Anyone registered as a resident in Jungnang-gu as of March 1, 2025, can apply, with only one plot allocated per household. If multiple applications are submitted from the same household, they will be excluded from the lottery.
The leasing fee is 30,000 KRW for garden plots and 100,000 KRW for pear trees. Applications will be accepted online on the Jungnang-gu Office website from March 4 to 10. Winners will be randomly selected through a computerized lottery, and selected users can use the farm from the opening in April until November. Results will be individually notified and published on the district office website on March 17.
Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi of Jungnang-gu said, “Through the leasing of Jungnang Happy Farm, I hope residents can experience farming directly in nature and enjoy rest and relaxation,” adding, “We will continue to actively support the establishment of a healthy urban agriculture culture.”
