Kim Yoon-duk: "No Justification to Oppose Special Prosecutor"
The Democratic Party of Korea claimed on the 3rd that "the Myeong Taegyun gate has expanded from the Yoon Seok-yeol couple gate to the People Power Party gate."
Kim Yoon-duk, Secretary General of the Democratic Party, said at a press briefing held at the National Assembly in Yeouido on the same day, addressing the People Power Party, "If you are innocent, you should take the lead in uncovering the truth."
Secretary General Kim stated, "Watching the prosecution investigation that only drags on, there is no reason to oppose a special prosecutor," and pointed out, "Before opposing the special prosecutor, it is first necessary to clarify whether there was prior knowledge of interference in candidate selection."
He added, "Mrs. Kim Gun-hee directly mentioned the name 'Kwon Seong-dong' during a phone call with Myeong Taegyun," emphasizing, "This is not an issue to be glossed over by calling it political manipulation."
Secretary General Kim explained, "Mayor Oh Se-hoon and Mayor Hong Joon-pyo, as presidential candidates of the People Power Party, must push for the party's approval of the special prosecutor," and said, "They denied meeting, but testimonies and photos have emerged showing they did meet, and they claimed no opinion polls were conducted, but suspicions are growing that money was paid on their behalf."
