Hong Joonpyo at 6.8%, Oh Sehoon at 5.1%
Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, was found to be the frontrunner in a public opinion poll on the suitability of next presidential candidates from both ruling and opposition parties.
Realmeter, commissioned by Energy Economy Newspaper, conducted a survey from the 26th to the 28th of last month targeting 1,506 voters nationwide aged 18 and over to assess the suitability of next presidential candidates from both ruling and opposition parties (with a 95% confidence level and a margin of error of ±2.5 percentage points). On the 3rd, it was announced that Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party, recorded 46.3%. Minister of Employment and Labor Kim Moon-soo recorded 18.9%, and former leader of the People Power Party Han Dong-hoon recorded 6.9%, respectively.
Following them were Hong Joon-pyo, Mayor of Daegu, with 6.8%, Oh Se-hoon, Mayor of Seoul, with 5.1%, and former lawmaker Yoo Seung-min with 2.1%. Former Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon had 1.7%, Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon had 1.4%, and former Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum and former Gyeongnam Province Governor Kim Kyung-soo each had 1.3%.

View original imageIn hypothetical one-on-one matchups for the next presidential election, Lee Jae-myung led all ruling party presidential candidates by a margin outside the margin of error. In a head-to-head contest between Lee Jae-myung and Minister Kim Moon-soo, Lee received 50.0%, while Kim received 31.6%, showing an 18.4 percentage point difference.
In the matchup between Lee Jae-myung and Mayor Oh Se-hoon, Lee led with 50.3%, while Oh had 23.5%, a 26.8 percentage point gap. In the contest between Lee and Mayor Hong Joon-pyo, Lee had 50.0%, and Hong had 24.2%, a 25.8 percentage point difference.
In the race between Lee and former leader Han Dong-hoon, Lee had 49.7%, and Han had 20.3%, a 29.4 percentage point gap.
