Muan County, Jeonnam (Governor Kim San) announced on the 27th that Dodae Port in Cheonggye-myeon has been selected for the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries' 2025 Fishing Village Revitalization Project, securing a total project budget of 5 billion KRW (3.5 billion KRW from the national government and 1.5 billion KRW from local funds).
The Fishing Village Revitalization Project was finally selected after written, on-site, and comprehensive evaluations by a panel composed of experts in relevant fields from the Jeonnam Province evaluation and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.

View original imageIn particular, Dodae Port in Cheonggye achieved the remarkable feat of being selected amid fierce competition, with a total of 98 locations applying from 41 cities, counties, and districts in 11 provinces and metropolitan cities for the 2025 Fishing Village Revitalization Project.
The county plans to invest 5 billion KRW in Dodae Port to improve fishing industry infrastructure, including the construction of a wharf and the extension and reinforcement of the breakwater, aiming to develop the port into a multipurpose, multifunctional harbor rather than a simple fishing port.
Governor Kim San stated, "Through the Fishing Village Revitalization Project, we will do our best to improve the quality of life for fishermen by enhancing fishing industry infrastructure and living and safety facilities, and to create a vibrant fishing village."
