Fire in Passenger Car Driving Toward Gimhae at Changwon Tunnel... No Casualties Reported

View original imageAt 11:23 a.m. on the 27th, a fire broke out in a passenger car traveling through the Changwon Tunnel in Daecheong-dong, Gimhae-si, Gyeongnam.
At the time of the fire, an attempt was made to extinguish it using the fire hydrant inside the tunnel, but the vehicle was completely burned.
The driver, a man in his 60s, saw smoke and flames coming from the car's hood while driving, immediately stopped the car, and evacuated, resulting in no casualties.
The vehicle was identified as traveling from Palyong-dong, Changwon, toward Jangyu, Gimhae.
The fire was fully extinguished by the responding fire department at around 11:55 a.m.

The fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire based on the driver's statement that engine oil was added before driving.
