Iksan City Recruiting 10 Members for Citizens' Participation Committee

Term of Office: Two Years
Iksan City in North Jeolla Province announced on the 27th that it will be recruiting 10 members for the 'Citizen Participation Committee' until the 11th of next month.
Through this recruitment, the city will select 5 members recommended by civic organizations and 5 citizens with extensive knowledge and experience in civic participation. Including 2 city council members and 3 administrative officials, the Citizen Participation Committee will be composed of a total of 15 members.
Once appointed as a committee member, responsibilities will include providing policy suggestions and administrative improvement measures for city development, matters related to the basic plan for citizen participation, and issues regarding policy forums. The term of office is two years, with the possibility of one reappointment.
Applicants must be citizens of Iksan with experience in civic participation. For those recommended by civic organizations, only nonprofit organizations registered in Iksan can make recommendations. Applications can be submitted in person to the Planning and Budget Division with a recommendation letter, application form, and supporting documents, or sent via email or fax. A city official stated, "Through the Citizen Participation Committee, a foundation has been established for citizens to actively participate in municipal administration," and added, "We ask for much interest and participation in the public recruitment so that diverse and valuable opinions of citizens can be reflected."
