Reducing Farming Burdens and Improving Accessibility
Uiseong-gun, Gyeongbuk, held an opening ceremony for the Anpyeong Agricultural Machinery Rental Center on the 26th at Changgil-ri, Anpyeong-myeon, with about 300 attendees including local officials and residents.

View original imageThe Anpyeong Agricultural Machinery Rental Center was established to reduce the management burden on farmers in the central mountainous region and to facilitate farming activities.
With a total project cost of 7.7 billion KRW, it was built on a 11,675㎡ site with a total floor area of 1,354㎡ (998㎡ for agricultural machinery storage warehouse, 324㎡ for office and training room, and 32㎡ for washing area), equipped with 100 units of 25 types of agricultural machinery including soybean combines.
With this opening, Uiseong-gun now operates the largest agricultural machinery rental center in Gyeongbuk. Accessibility for farmers in all regional zones has improved, reducing the burden of purchasing expensive machinery and is expected to contribute to solving labor shortages in rural areas caused by aging populations.
Kim Ju-su, the mayor of Uiseong-gun, stated, "The Anpyeong Agricultural Machinery Rental Center will play an important role in lowering the economic burden on farmers and enhancing the competitiveness of local agriculture. We will continue to strengthen the operation of the rental center and continuously secure agricultural machinery suited to local conditions to reduce the burden on farming households."
Currently, Uiseong-gun operates six agricultural machinery rental centers including Anpyeong, Bonso, Jeomgok, Geumseong, Angye, and Dain.
Additionally, various support projects are being promoted such as ▲ agricultural machinery safety education ▲ free operation of soybean sorting facilities ▲ rollover accident detection devices ▲ large agricultural machinery transport services ▲ distribution of solar-powered rechargeable batteries for agricultural machinery ▲ on-site repair services for rented agricultural machinery breakdowns.
