Yongin City Supports Installation Costs for Emission Reduction Devices on Building Gas Heat Pumps
Support for 381 Units This Year... Largest Among Local Governments

Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province is accepting applications for the '2025 Gas Heat Pump (GHP) Emission Reduction Device Attachment Support Project' to reduce air pollutant emissions and cut greenhouse gases.
A gas heat pump is a heating and cooling device that uses liquefied natural gas (LNG) or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as fuel. It is mainly used in schools and commercial buildings nationwide. Because it emits large amounts of air pollutants such as nitrogen oxides, the government revised the Air Quality Preservation Act to manage it as an 'air emission facility' starting in 2023.

View original imageHowever, if the pollutant emissions are less than 30% of the allowable standard or if an emission reduction device certified by the Ministry of Environment is attached, it is excluded from being classified as an 'air emission facility.'
This year, the city will invest about 1.2 billion KRW in its budget to support the attachment of reduction devices for a total of 381 units. This is the largest amount among basic local governments nationwide.
The city will support 90% of the installation cost within the range of 2.46 million to 3.32 million KRW per reduction device, depending on the type of gas heat pump engine. Eligible recipients are private and public facilities that installed gas heat pumps before 2022. The city plans to provide support sequentially, considering the application date, scale, and gas consumption.
