Man in His 50s Arrested for Threatening with Weapon at Restaurant While Intoxicated
Gwangju Gwangsan Police Station announced on the 27th that they had arrested a man in his 50s, identified as A, on charges of special intimidation after he threatened a restaurant employee and a delivery worker with a weapon.
A is accused of threatening a restaurant worker in their 20s, identified as B, and a delivery worker with a weapon at a restaurant in Wolgye-dong, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, around 11:30 p.m. the previous day.
According to the investigation, he was heavily intoxicated and got into an argument with a passerby in front of the restaurant. He became upset when B tried to intervene. He then returned home, picked up two weapons, and went back to the restaurant to threaten them.
Fortunately, there was no physical violence or use of the weapons, and no injuries were reported. Police, responding to a report, arrested A at the scene.
The police plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the incident and will consider whether to request an arrest warrant.
