Showcasing Future Mobility Technologies
Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) announced on the 27th that it participated in the '2025 Drone Show Korea,' Asia's largest event, held from the 26th to the 28th at BEXCO in Busan.
The event featured 306 companies from 15 countries showcasing the latest technological trends in the drone and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) industry. At the exhibition, KAI divided its presentation into zones featuring next-generation air combat systems (NACS), unmanned aerial vehicles, and artificial intelligence (AI) pilot simulators, introducing advanced scientific technologies centered on AI-based manned-unmanned combined combat systems.
In the Next-Generation Air Combat System Zone, next-generation UAV models such as unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAV) and multipurpose unmanned aerial platforms (AAP), which will incorporate AI pilots, were displayed. These systems are intended for future manned-unmanned combined combat operations linked with the KF-21.
In the UAV Zone, three types of military UAVs performing surveillance, reconnaissance, and attack missions were exhibited: the next-generation corps UAV 'Block-II,' a small multifunctional modular aircraft, and an air-launched aerial vehicle. Additionally, a demonstrator of a future aerial vehicle (AAV) was displayed. In the AI Pilot Simulator Zone, visitors could board the FA-50 simulator currently used for actual Air Force training and engage in combat with AI virtual adversaries developed by KAI using virtual reality (VR). This provided an opportunity to experience the operational concept of the manned-unmanned combined next-generation air combat system while piloting the aircraft.
