Jangheung County to Promote Renewable Energy Expansion with 3.5 Billion Won Investment
Support for 405 Sites Including Solar Power, Solar Thermal, and Geothermal Energy
Jangheung County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Sung) announced on the 26th that it has been selected for the "2025 Renewable Energy Convergence Support Project" organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, securing a total of 3.5 billion KRW, including 650 million KRW in national funding.
The Renewable Energy Convergence Support Project is a program that provides financial assistance for the installation of renewable energy systems such as solar power, solar thermal, and geothermal energy in homes and buildings to promote the adoption of renewable energy.
Accordingly, the county plans to support renewable energy facilities at a total of 405 locations, including 345 solar power sites, 55 solar thermal sites, and 5 geothermal sites, targeting pre-registered applicants from the previous year.
It is reported that installing a 3kW solar power system can save a household about 600,000 KRW per year on electricity bills.
Governor Kim Sung stated, "Through the Renewable Energy Convergence Support Project, we expect to alleviate the financial burden on residents and accelerate the realization of energy welfare," adding, "We will continue these projects to increase our energy self-sufficiency rate."
