The county plans to establish a disaster response system to protect the "golden time" in disaster management, setting safety measures and mitigation targets for 51 areas including natural disasters, social disasters, and safety accidents, and establishing a manual response system for 44 types of disasters.
In particular, by taking local characteristics into maximum consideration, the county aims to respond effectively in the event of an actual disaster. In cases of concern over large-scale disasters, a step-by-step disaster safety response headquarters will be operated, and a public-private cooperation system will be established with the fire station, police station, military units, and the local autonomous disaster prevention group, positioning Taean as a leading city in disaster safety.
To ensure the safety of facilities in blind spots not covered by the law, the county will designate additional Type 3 facilities under the Facility Safety Act to provide legal protection measures.
Additionally, the county will install coastal safety management facilities such as disaster monitoring cameras (6 locations), coastal safety signs (53 locations), mudflat guiding lights (5 locations), LED signboards (41 locations), and life-saving equipment boxes (30 units), and will also work to create a safe environment for residents returning home.
Furthermore, in celebration of the "2025 Visit Taean Year," the county will further strengthen safety management for local festivals and events, and plans to proactively respond to disasters by operating a field safety task force of 110 members.
Yu Changmin, head of the Safety Management Division, said, "This year's budget for safety and disaster prevention is approximately 94.8 billion KRW, which is about 13% of the total budget?significantly higher than the provincial average of 8% last year. As the name Taean (meaning 'great safety') suggests, we will do our utmost to ensure that all residents can enjoy a safe and pleasant life."
