Home&Shopping to Increase Support for Overseas Market Access for SMEs This Year
Expansion of Support Projects for Promising Export Sectors such as Food and Beauty
Home&Shopping announced on the 26th that it plans to expand the scale of support projects this year, focusing on promising export sectors such as K-Food and K-Beauty, and to help more small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) open new sales channels through domestic and international exhibitions such as the LA World Korean Business Convention, Intercharm Korea, and Jakarta Premium Consumer Goods Fair.
The World Korean Business Convention held in April is the largest business event for the Korean ethnic group, gathering overseas Korean entrepreneurs (Hansang) from around the world since 2002. Home&Shopping will select 20 SMEs wishing to enter overseas markets and establish a dedicated SME pavilion to support SME exports by utilizing the Hansang network.
Home&Shopping began exporting SME products in 2014. Since 2019, it has secured TV home shopping and live commerce sales channels in several countries such as Taiwan’s MOMO Home Shopping, Malaysia’s HCVM, and Vietnam’s VGS, surpassing $1 million in export sales in 2021 and receiving the 'Million Dollar Export Tower' award. Last year, it was recognized for these achievements and was selected as a ‘Specialized Trading Company.’
Home&Shopping does not just provide one-time support for SMEs entering overseas markets but purchases products directly and exports them, thereby offering practical assistance such as local permits and customs clearance to companies exporting for the first time.
