Through this work, Inshorts introduced next-generation product placement that effectively integrates products matching the advertiser's campaign timing into the content.
Newtopia is a Coupang Play series depicting the story of soldier Jaeyoon (Park Jung-min) and his lover Youngju (Jisoo) running toward each other across the zombie-infested Seoul city center. Directed by Yoon Sung-hyun, known for the films 'Guardians' and 'Time to Hunt,' this is his first series project, garnering high expectations. It premiered on the 7th through Coupang Play and Prime Video, reaching 240 countries worldwide.
Inshorts conducted product placements for various brands such as Trip.com, Lian Hair, MotiV, zro, and Kiki Quokka in this work. Especially with the application of the AI digital-based Inshorts PPL, differentiated from traditional product placement methods, participating brands could execute advertisements for the latest products and services more timely according to their desired campaign periods. Advertisements were inserted using various environments and props such as buildings, buses, stores, and dolls, providing viewers with high immersion while effectively conveying product and brand messages.
The Inshorts PPL applied in this project incorporates Inshorts' proprietary technology called the 'Seamless Brand Placement Pipeline.' Traditional product placement required pre-planning and filming, limiting the real-time reflection of product timeliness and brand campaigns. However, Inshorts' AI digital product placement solution enables ad insertion that appears to exist on the set even after content filming is completed by utilizing AI technology. This allows for timely promotion of the latest products and enables brands to incorporate appropriate marketing strategies into the content.
The Newtopia AI digital product placement campaign is attracting attention in the marketing industry for overcoming the limitations of traditional product placement methods and enabling flexible digital advertising execution. Based on broad content partnerships encompassing broadcasters and production companies, Inshorts supplies the Inshorts PPL solution to various video content such as dramas, movies, and YouTube short-form channels.
