'H+ Bridge Care 2025' was organized with the purpose of advancing healthcare in Vietnam and strengthening cooperation between medical personnel of the two countries by serving as a medical bridge between Korea and Vietnam. It also focused on providing essential medical examinations and treatments to residents in medically underserved areas, collaborating with local medical staff, and establishing a sustainable medical environment.
Bac Kan Province is a mountainous area located 160 km northwest of Hanoi. About 70% of the approximately 300,000 population live in rural areas, and there is only one general hospital in the region. Due to an absolute shortage of doctors, patients with severe conditions must travel to major cities such as Hanoi.
During the two-day medical volunteer activity, 107 medical personnel and volunteers from both countries treated over 550 patients and provided medicines. H Plus Yangji Hospital dispatched about 10 medical staff and employees, including three specialists (in gastroenterology, orthopedics, and emergency medicine) and nurses.
Kim Sang-il, Director of H Plus Yangji Hospital (also serving as Director of H+ Hanoi Hospital), said, "I feel rewarded to be able to help the residents here who have difficulty receiving medical benefits through this sharing medical service," and added, "Our hospital will continue activities that contribute to fundamentally improving the medical level in this area of Vietnam by practicing continuous medical volunteer work rather than simple one-time support."
Nguyen Luong Hieu, Director of Hanoi Medical University Hospital, expressed deep gratitude, saying, "We sincerely thank H Plus Yangji Hospital of Korea, H+ Hanoi, and Bac Kan Province Cho Don District Health Center for joining forces to provide substantial medical support to the local residents facing difficulties."
