This project is part of the regulatory innovation plan for greenbelt zones announced at last year's Ulsan Public Forum. Upon designation, exceptions to the total allowable lifting of greenbelt restrictions are recognized. Lifting is permitted when alternative sites are designated in areas with environmental assessment grades 1 and 2, and administrative procedures are also streamlined.
The 'Nano 2nd Industrial Complex' project aims to secure industrial land by establishing a nanotechnology industrial complex in the Jinwon-myeon and Nam-myeon areas of Jangseong County. The plan is to form an industrial cluster in connection with the nearby nanotechnology general industrial complex and the Gwangju Research and Development Special Zone Advanced District 3. This is expected to counteract local depopulation and drive regional development.
County Governor Kim Hanjong stated, "This designation will change the economic landscape of Jangseong," and added, "We will create an environment conducive to corporate investment and secure sustainable growth engines through job creation and population inflow."
