CJ CheilJedang is accelerating its local business expansion in Europe by introducing new products centered on Bibigo Global Strategic Products (GSP).
On the 25th, CJ CheilJedang announced that it will launch 'Bibigo Gochujang and Ssamjang' developed for overseas markets in Europe. The strategy is to increase global consumer experience of Korean sauces, so-called 'K-sauces,' by promoting localized products.

View original imageThe overseas 'Bibigo Gochujang and Ssamjang' are characterized by reflecting various local food cultures abroad. Overseas consumers are accustomed to dipping fried foods in ketchup or mustard sauces (dipping sauce) or drizzling dressings or hot sauces on salads or tacos (drizzle). CJ CheilJedang took note of this and made the new products thinner like dipping and drizzle sauces, differentiating from the traditional spoon-use method by packaging them in containers that allow easy squeezing. Additionally, instead of increasing saltiness, onions and garlic were fermented together to enhance the original deep taste and flavor of the raw ingredients. These sauces are expected to be widely used not only as seasonings for K-foods like tteokbokki but also as dipping or drizzle sauces for local dishes.
These products will be launched in four countries?Germany, the United Kingdom, France, and the Netherlands?and will be stocked in mainstream local distribution channels and Asian grocery stores. CJ CheilJedang plans to expand the launch of 'Bibigo Gochujang and Ssamjang' to other overseas markets such as Oceania, starting with Europe.

The company is also expanding its product lineup in existing major European retail channels. At the end of last year, it newly launched two types of Bibigo chicken at Sainsbury's, the second-largest supermarket chain in the UK, marking the first introduction of frozen products in UK large supermarkets. Recently, Bibigo microwaveable dumplings in three varieties and hot dogs were introduced at Albert Heijn, the largest supermarket chain in the Netherlands.
