Netflix to Release Director Yeon Sang-ho's Film 'Gyesirok' Next Month
Alfonso Cuaron Participates as Executive Producer
Netflix announced on the 24th that it will release director Yeon Sang-ho's new film 'Apocalypse' on the 21st of next month.
The film depicts the story of a pastor who believes that punishing the culprit of a missing person case is a divine revelation, and a detective in charge of missing person cases who is haunted by the ghost of his younger brother who died in a terrible incident in the past, each following their own beliefs. Alfonso Cuar?n, the Mexican master who directed films such as 'Gravity (2013)' and 'Roma (2018)', participated as the Executive Producer.

Pastor Min Chan and detective Yeon Hee were played by actors Ryu Jun-yeol and Shin Hyun-bin, respectively. Shin Min-jae portrayed Yang Rae, a former convict suspected of being the culprit. Director Yeon co-wrote the screenplay with webtoon artist Choi Kyu-seok, based on the original webtoon of the same name serialized in 2022. The two previously collaborated on the Netflix series 'Hellbound'.
