This project is structured so that when labor and management raise funds to enhance the welfare of partner company workers, the government supports up to 100% of the employer’s contribution and up to 200% of the workers’ contribution.
SK Energy is the only participant from the petrochemical industry and contributed a total of 550 million KRW, combining 450 million KRW from the ‘1% Happiness Sharing Fund’?which collects 1% of SK members’ salaries?and 100 million KRW from company contributions. Adding government support funds of 950 million KRW, the Win-Win Welfare Center was completed with a total project cost of 1.5 billion KRW. This further enriched the project’s purpose of ‘win-win’ cooperation between the primary contractor and partner companies.
The first floor of the Win-Win Welfare Center is equipped with shower facilities, and the second floor provides a resting area for partner company members. Facility management will be handled by the ‘Win-Win Solidarity Partner Company Council,’ a gathering of partner companies.
The opening ceremony held at the Win-Win Welfare Center on the Ulsan CLX site was attended by key guests including Kim Yoo-jin, Director of Labor Policy at the Ministry of Employment and Labor; Ahn Hyo-dae, Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs of Ulsan City; Ahn Seong-seok, Head of the Yeongnam Headquarters of the Korea National Railway Corporation; Kim Beom-seok, Director of the Ulsan Employment and Labor Office; as well as representatives of partner companies and SK members.
Director Kim stated, “I hope exemplary cases like the Win-Win Welfare Center will expand throughout the Korean industry, leading to improved treatment of partner company workers,” and emphasized, “The government will also provide thorough support to ensure that a culture of win-win cooperation is firmly established.”
