Kang Dong-myeong, Chief Judge of Daegu District Court, Elected as Daegu Election Commission Chairman: "Committed to Fair Election Management"
The Daegu City Election Commission elected Kang Dong-myeong (61), Chief Judge of Daegu District Court, as the 28th Chairman of the Daegu Election Commission on the 24th.
The newly appointed Chairman Kang Dong-myeong graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in Judicial Studies. He began his career as a judge at Daegu District Court in 1992, and has served as Chief Judge of Gimcheon Branch and Pohang Branch of Daegu District Court, as Senior Presiding Judge at Daegu District Court and Daegu High Court, and is currently serving as Chief Judge of Daegu District Court.
Chairman Kang stated, "We will successfully conduct the 1st nationwide simultaneous Saemaeul Geumgo chairman election on March 5 and the Daegu City Council by-election on April 2. In the second half of the year, we will devote all efforts to establishing an election management foundation to ensure that the 9th nationwide simultaneous local elections held next year are conducted transparently and fairly."

Chairman Kang also emphasized, "We will fulfill the constitutional duty of the Election Commission, which is 'fair election management,' and do our best to realize the true value of elections as the foundation of democracy."
