Taebaek-si and Korea Tourism Organization Sign Business Agreement for Tour Dure Creation Project
Taebaek City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Mayor Lee Sang-ho) announced on the 24th that it has signed a "Tourism Dure Creation Project Business Agreement" with the Korea Tourism Organization. The Tourism Dure Creation Project is a program that supports local residents to take the lead in creating tourism businesses utilizing the unique culture and resources of the region.

View original imageAt the signing ceremony, 10 officials including Lee Sang-ho, Mayor of Taebaek, Kwon Jong-sul, Director of the Tourism Enterprise Support Office at the Korea Tourism Organization, and Jeong Su-yeon, Taebaek City Tourism Dure PD, attended and signed a business agreement on cooperation and administrative support between the two organizations for the activation of local tourism through the Tourism Dure Creation Project.
The agreement includes support for Tourism Dure PD activities and capacity building, discovery and support for start-up and nurturing of resident businesses, and promotion and marketing support for resident businesses and local tourism content.
Taebaek City expects that through this agreement, the development and operation of various local tourism and travel products will be revitalized, promoting the recovery of vitality in Taebaek City through attracting tourists and fostering regional economic development.

A Taebaek City official said, “This agreement with the Korea Tourism Organization will be an important milestone in expanding Taebaek City's tourism infrastructure and growing into a sustainable tourism city,” adding, “Taebaek City will actively support the Tourism Dure PD to ensure that tourism businesses directly involving local residents can take root well.”
