Kim Youngrok, Governor of Jeonnam, Departs for Official Visit to the United States
Meetings Scheduled with Silicon Valley Companies
Lecture for Students at Stanford University Also Planned
Kim Youngrok, Governor of Jeollanam-do, will embark on an official visit to the United States on the 24th.
On the first day of the trip, the 25th (local time), he plans to sign an agreement with Redlands Crystal School (RCS) in California to establish a foreign educational institution in the Haenam Solaseado corporate city.
This initiative is expected to provide domestic youth with world-class educational opportunities and contribute to developing Solaseado into a global education hub.
On the 26th, he will discuss specific investment plans with investors to establish an AI supercluster hub in Jeollanam-do. He also plans to sign agreements with institutions such as Stanford University and Korea Institute of Energy Technology to foster AI data center professionals and promote research and development.
In particular, at Stanford University, one of the world's top universities, he is scheduled to give a lecture to students and faculty on the topic of "Korea-US Global Innovation: Vision for Challenges and Cooperation in the AI Era."
On the final day, the 27th, he will meet with executives from global big tech companies in Silicon Valley to exchange views on sustainable development, industry, and the economy.
This is expected to be an important occasion to discuss the introduction of data-driven technology for industrial innovation in Jeollanam-do and the potential expansion of AI infrastructure.
Governor Kim stated, "This visit will greatly help in creating a venture and startup ecosystem and driving the growth of advanced strategic industries, which are key priorities for Jeollanam-do."
