Asan City Begins Survey on Vacant Houses in Urban Areas
Maintenance Plans to Be Established Based on Survey Results
On the 24th, Asan City in Chungnam announced that it will begin a survey of vacant houses in urban areas by July to prevent safety accidents and ensure systematic management.
The survey targets houses in the Dong district that have not been occupied or used for more than one year.
Through this survey, the city aims to establish maintenance plans and step-by-step strategies for the management and utilization of vacant houses.
A city official said, "Recently, the number of vacant houses has been increasing due to aging populations and a decline in the original downtown population, and social interest in the issue is growing. We will systematically and efficiently manage vacant houses to create a safe and pleasant residential environment."
Meanwhile, on the 10th, the city signed an agreement with the Korea Real Estate Board to conduct the vacant house survey, which will be carried out every five years.
