"Promised High Pay for Part-Time Job..." 20s Caught Involved in Drug Crime
Two people in their 20s who could not resist the temptation of high-paying part-time jobs and became involved in drug smuggling were caught in a customs crackdown.
Busan Customs of the Korea Customs Service announced on the 24th that they arrested A (26, female, customs clearance agent) and B (26, distribution agent) on charges of involvement in the smuggling and distribution of drugs such as synthetic marijuana, and sent them to the prosecution.

During the investigation, it was additionally revealed that A had received 4.5kg of synthetic marijuana from Vietnam and 700g of liquid marijuana from the United States via international mail in the past.
Also, traces of A dividing drugs at her home and the existence of B, who distributed 1.2kg of synthetic marijuana from Vietnam to Suwon City and other areas using the so-called "throwing" method, were detected during the investigation.
When Busan Customs identified B as a suspect, the police caught him on the spot for repeatedly distributing drugs using the throwing method, and he is already incarcerated.
The investigation revealed that A and B were strangers who could not resist the temptation of high-paying part-time jobs and were recruited by the drug mastermind operating on Telegram to participate in the crime.
The mastermind gave them specific instructions through Telegram, and the payment was made through unregistered cryptocurrency exchangers, which are difficult to trace.
A Busan Customs official said, “There is an increasing number of cases where drug dealers approach young people familiar with SNS, tempting them to participate in drug crimes with the bait of high monetary rewards (part-time job pay), so special caution is needed. Customs will strictly crack down on the import of illegal drugs from overseas and strengthen arrest activities against drug smugglers.”
