Expected Snowfall of 1 to 5 cm Over Two Days
This weekend, Gwangju and Jeonnam are expected to experience cold weather along with up to 5 cm of snowfall.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, snow will fall mainly in the western coastal areas of Jeonnam from late dawn to morning on Saturday, the 22nd. After a brief lull, snow is expected to return from late dawn to night on the following day, the 23rd. The total expected snowfall over the two days is estimated to be between 1 and 5 cm.
As cold northwesterly winds continue to flow in, the cold weather will persist. Morning temperatures over the weekend are expected to range from minus 6 degrees Celsius to 1 degree, while daytime temperatures will range between 1 and 7 degrees Celsius.
From the 26th onward, temperatures are expected to return to seasonal averages, with generally clear and mild weather prevailing.
An official from the Gwangju Meteorological Administration stated, "Since temperatures will remain low for the time being, those vulnerable to cold-related illnesses should refrain from outdoor activities and take extra care of their health."
