KOSPI Weakens Intraday Amid Foreigners' Net Selling
The KOSPI index is continuing its intraday weakness, pressured by net selling from foreign investors.
As of 10:02 AM on the 21st, the KOSPI index is trading at 2646.48, down 0.29% from the previous day.
By investor type, institutions and individuals are net buying 73.4 billion KRW and 120.2 billion KRW respectively, while foreigners are net selling 209.7 billion KRW. In the futures market, institutions and individuals are net buying 44.3 billion KRW and 159.5 billion KRW respectively, whereas foreigners are net selling 185.7 billion KRW.
Sector performance is mixed. The metals sector is up 2.01%, electricity and gas 1.15%, real estate 0.84%, transportation equipment 0.53%, general services 0.43%, medical precision 0.31%, and chemicals 0.31%. On the other hand, the insurance sector is down 2.39%, electronics -1.41%, telecommunications -1.01%, entertainment and culture -0.86%, textiles and apparel -0.59%, and manufacturing -0.52%.
Top market capitalization stocks are also showing mixed movements. Samsung Electronics is down 1.88%, SK Hynix -2.36%, LG Energy Solution -0.27%, Samsung Biologics -0.7%, Celltrion -0.67%, and Kia -0.11%. Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor is up 0.74%, NAVER 1.13%, KB Financial 0.6%, and Hanwha Aerospace 1.24%.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ index is recording gains. The KOSDAQ index is trading at 772.43, up 0.54% from the previous day. By investor type, institutions and foreigners are net buying 7.8 billion KRW and 45.6 billion KRW respectively, while individuals are net selling 46 billion KRW.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, more are rising. Alteogen is up 0.79%, EcoPro BM 0.59%, EcoPro 3.16%, Rainbow Robotics 5.69%, Ligachem Bio 2.72%, Hugel 5.22%, Classys 3.06%, PharmaResearch 1.09%, and Enchem 2.52%. Conversely, HLB is down 0.47%, Samchundang Pharm -0.33%, Lino Industrial -1.99%, and Kolon TissueGene -3.1%.
