16 People Caught Running Illegal Gambling Den in Gangnam Residential Area
A group involved in gambling was caught by the police in a residential area of Gangnam, Seoul.
On the 19th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced that they have booked and are investigating 16 people, including a landlord in his 40s identified as Mr. A, on charges of opening and aiding a gambling venue.
They are suspected of opening or participating in an illegal gambling site at a villa in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, around 3 p.m. on the 4th. At Mr. A's villa, 1 million won in cash and chips used for poker games were found. Four of them denied the charges, claiming they "came for a housewarming," but reportedly admitted to gambling after continued questioning.
