Kim Dong-yeon to Meet Lee Jae-myung, Democratic Party Leader, on 28th... Drawing Attention Amid Recent Political Moves
Kim Dong-yeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, will meet Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, on the 28th.
The meeting between the two is drawing attention as it takes place amid growing possibilities of President Yoon Suk-yeol declaring martial law and an early presidential election.
Earlier, after a 1-night, 2-day visit to the Gwangju area, Governor Kim stated in a broadcast interview that he would become the heir to Roh Moo-hyun's legacy and advocated for constitutional amendments (the 7th Republic), including a four-year presidential term with re-election.
He also expressed opposition to Lee Jae-myung's proposal to provide a "250,000 won nationwide livelihood recovery support fund," arguing that more support should be given to vulnerable groups.
