On the 19th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held a 'Discussion Forum on Exploring Innovation Plans for Non-Tax Revenue' at the Changwon Convention Center in collaboration with the Korea Local Tax Research Institute.
This forum was organized under the theme of 'Increasing Non-Tax Revenue and Innovation in Management' to review the overall status and issues of non-tax revenue and to seek reasonable operational plans for non-tax revenue management.

View original imageAbout 100 participants, including academic and research experts, city council members, related officials, and citizens of Changwon, attended the event, which proceeded with opening remarks by Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, and Kang Seongjo, President of the Korea Local Tax Research Institute, followed by keynote presentations, comprehensive discussions, and Q&A sessions.
The first keynote speaker, Im Sangbin, Research Fellow at the Korea Local Tax Research Institute, presented on the topic 'Innovation Plans for the Operation and Management of Non-Tax Revenue in Changwon Special City,' proposing comprehensive improvement measures for the non-tax revenue management system based on an analysis of Changwon Special City's finances and non-tax revenue status.
Following this, the second keynote presentation was delivered by Hwang Hwiyuk, Associate Research Fellow at the Changwon City Research Institute, on the topic 'Plans to Increase Non-Tax Revenue for Financial Expansion in Changwon Special City.' He emphasized the necessity of phased fee adjustments for usage fees and commissions related to non-tax revenue, focusing on cost analysis of Changwon Municipal Sangbok Park, and highlighted the importance of cost analysis.
During the comprehensive discussion, chaired by Professor Choi Byungho of Pusan National University, panelists including Professor Kim Taewan of Gyeongnam National University, Council Member Seong Bobin of Changwon Special City Council, Professor Jeong Seungyoung of National Changwon University, Tax Officer Jeong Youngseok of Yeongdo District Tax Office in Busan Metropolitan City, and Jeong Changyong, Head of the Gyeongnam Public Investment Management Center at the Gyeongnam Research Institute, engaged in in-depth discussions on the topic.
