Supports Three University Students Who Are Children of Shipbuilding Accident Victims
HD Hyundai Hope Foundation has awarded its first scholarships to children of bereaved families affected by serious industrial accidents.
On the 19th, HD Hyundai Hope Foundation held its inaugural scholarship award ceremony at the HD Hyundai Global Research and Development (R&D) Center located in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, and presented scholarships to three children of bereaved families affected by serious industrial accidents. The scholarship support program targets university students who are children of bereaved families from the shipbuilding industry accidents. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis through the HD Hyundai Hope Foundation website.
HD Hyundai Hope Foundation is the first scholarship foundation in Korea established to assist bereaved families affected by serious accidents at shipyards. It was officially launched in September last year with a personal donation from Kwon Oh-gap, Chairman of HD Hyundai. Currently, the foundation operates scholarship support programs for children of bereaved families affected by serious accidents, living and medical expense support programs for bereaved families, and legal aid support programs.

He added, "We will continue to carefully observe the hardships faced by bereaved families and develop various support measures that can provide practical help."
