Kim Dong-yeon Meets Acting US Ambassador to Korea: "Grateful for Unwavering Trust"
Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon met with Joseph Yun, Acting U.S. Ambassador to South Korea, on the 18th to reaffirm the strong Korea-U.S. alliance and discuss cooperation plans between Gyeonggi Province and the United States.
Governor Kim expressed his gratitude to Acting Ambassador Joseph Yun for his unwavering trust in South Korea's crisis management capabilities despite unstable situations such as martial law and presidential impeachment proceedings.
During the meeting, the two exchanged views on various current issues and shared the need for close cooperation.
Gyeonggi Province explained that the meeting was a meaningful occasion to exchange opinions for cooperation amid rapidly changing circumstances.
Since proposing the "Innovation Alliance" during a meeting with former U.S. Ambassador to South Korea Philip Goldberg in 2022, Governor Kim has signed two new friendship cooperation agreements between Gyeonggi Province and the United States over the past two years and has continuously maintained a deep cooperative relationship with the U.S. by organizing delegations from Gyeonggi Province and visiting the United States three times.

Governor Kim recently emphasized trust in South Korea and formed a consensus on cooperation through meetings with various ambassadors to South Korea, including Colin Crooks, British Ambassador; Philip Bertoux, French Ambassador; and Tamara Mohyini, Canadian Ambassador.
In January, he was the only Korean politician to participate in the Davos Forum, known as the World Economic Olympics, where he met with global economic leaders, business representatives, and journalists to explain South Korea's situation and focused on promoting the potential and resilience of the Korean economy, demonstrating a global economic presence.
