Seoul Cheongjang Acting Chief: "If Martial Law Situation Occurs, We Will Respond According to Law and Principles"
Park Hyun-soo, acting commissioner of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, stated on the 18th that if a state of emergency martial law situation occurs again, he will "respond according to law and principles."
On the same day, at the plenary meeting of the National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee, Park responded to a question from Mo Kyung-jong, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, asking, "What will you do if someone else causes an unprecedented situation?"
When asked whether "law and principles" mean following orders from superiors, Park said, "That is not necessarily the case."
Regarding the question, "How will you handle cases where arrest warrants issued by the court are refused?" Park stated, "That too will be handled according to law and principles."

Earlier, controversy arose when Park Hyun-soo, director of the Police Bureau at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, was appointed as the commissioner of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency on the 7th.
