Denies Intent of Sexual Crime
A man in his 50s who followed a woman he had never met before, threatened her with a weapon, and attempted sexual assault was arrested by the police.
The Namyangju Northern Police Station in Gyeonggi announced on the 18th that they had urgently detained a man in his 50s, identified as Mr. A, on suspicion of attempted special rape and are currently investigating him.
Mr. A is accused of threatening a woman he did not know with a weapon around midnight in Namyangju City, dragging her into an alley, and attempting to sexually assault her. Fortunately, the victim managed to escape, and the assault was unsuccessful.
Police who responded to the victim’s report tracked Mr. A through CCTV footage and apprehended him. It is known that Mr. A denies any intent of sexual crime. It has been confirmed that he was not wearing an electronic ankle bracelet.
