Two Pedestrians Sustain Minor Injuries After Being Hit by Reversing Vehicle at Gwangju Songjeong Market
At 12:06 p.m. on the 18th, an SUV driven by a man in his 70s, identified as Mr. A, struck two pedestrians on a road near Songjeong 5-day Market in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, and they were transported to the hospital.
Police determined that Mr. A, who was entering the market, attempted to reverse after shop tents blocked both sides of the road, but made a gear operation mistake and caused the accident while passing between the tents.
Although the market was crowded at the time, it was reported that the accident did not escalate further because the vehicle was not moving at high speed.
The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
