Buan County to Support Purchase of Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles
Applications accepted until November 12
Program ends when budget is exhausted
Buan County, Jeonbuk announced on the 18th that it will implement a hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle purchase support program this year with a budget of 1.8 billion KRW.
The county has supplied a total of 267 hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles in the region over the past five years from 2020 to 2024, and plans to support an additional 23 vehicles this year.
The application period is open until November 12, and the program will end early if the budget is exhausted.
Eligible applicants are individuals, corporations, and organizations aged 18 or older who have resided in the county for at least 60 consecutive days as of the day before the announcement (February 17, 2025). Purchasers can apply for the hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle supply program by visiting a Hyundai Motor dealership.
A mandatory operation period of two years is required, and subsidies will be provided in order of vehicle delivery and registration within the budget limit.
The county is actively implementing fine dust reduction policies by promoting the supply of eco-friendly vehicles such as hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles, operating two hydrogen charging stations in the area, and expanding hydrogen infrastructure to develop the Buan-type hydrogen industry platform.
Choi Hyeongin, head of the Environmental Department, said, "The supply of hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles is a future-oriented project closely related to improving air quality and protecting the health of county residents, so we hope for your continued interest."
