Seoul Police Chief Acting Director: "Spoke with Lee Sang-min and Jo Ji-ho... but not involved in martial law"
Park Hyun-soo, Acting Commissioner of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, stated on the 18th regarding suspicions of involvement in the 'December 3 Emergency Martial Law' that “I have not been involved in any way with the martial law.”
On the same day, at the plenary session of the National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee, Park responded to the criticism from Lee Hae-sik, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, who said, “I think it is right to resign voluntarily.”
Park acknowledged that he had several phone calls immediately after the martial law declaration with Police Commissioner Jo Ji-ho, former Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min, and Police Security Bureau Chief Lim Jeong-ju.
Assemblyman Lee criticized, “Park Hyun-soo is someone who can be converted into a key suspect at any time,” and added, “If the special prosecutor law passes the National Assembly in the future, he will be subject to investigation.”
