Yeongju-si Promotes Emission Reduction Project... Fine Dust and Air Quality Improvement
Diesel Vehicle Emission Reduction Device Installation
Construction Machinery Engine Replacement Applications Open
Yeongju City in Gyeongbuk Province is accepting applications for the ‘Diesel Vehicle Emission Reduction Device (DPF) Installation and Old Construction Machinery Engine Replacement Support Project’ until March 7 to reduce fine dust and improve air quality.
This project was established to reduce the emissions of fine dust and nitrogen oxides from old diesel vehicles and construction machinery, thereby improving air pollution. The city plans to invest approximately 460 million KRW this year to support a total of 37 units (11 diesel vehicles for emission reduction device installation and 26 construction machinery engine replacements).
The support targets are diesel vehicles registered in Yeongju City as of the day before the announcement with emission grade 5, and old construction machinery (excavators and forklifts) equipped with engines that meet Tier-1 or lower emission standards before 2004.
For old diesel vehicles, 90% of the cost for installing the corresponding reduction device will be supported depending on the vehicle type, with the remaining 10% to be borne by the applicant. For construction machinery, the full cost of engine replacement will be covered.
Applications can be submitted online through the Comprehensive Vehicle Emission System, and if online application is difficult, applicants can visit the administrative welfare centers in their respective towns or neighborhoods to apply.
Detailed application methods and required documents can be found in the announcement section on Yeongju City’s official website, and for other inquiries, contact the city’s Environmental Protection Division.
