Gyeonggi Fire Department to Establish 'Disaster Safety Network' by End of March... Expecting Precise Situation Management
The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters is establishing a comprehensive disaster safety network by building an integrated search function for disaster locations using Geographic Information System (GPS) and securing meticulous information such as real-time disaster photos and videos.
The Fire and Disaster Headquarters announced on the 18th that, considering there may be errors when confirming the caller's location through a single search engine, they will cross-verify highly accurate geographic information from T-map, Naver, Kakao, etc., and build a system by the end of March that can display detailed and precise locations.
Additionally, they plan to actively utilize real-time disaster site footage obtained via video calls and initial on-site information confirmed and transmitted through disaster monitoring CCTVs installed in cities and counties within the province.
Furthermore, when communicating with callers via the Fire and Disaster Headquarters’ video phone, they will display the ‘119 Situation Room Image’ together to prevent call rejection and encourage active participation from callers.
In fact, during the fire at an 8-story complex commercial building in Yatap-dong, Bundang, on the 3rd of last month, the fire photos reported enabled the issuance of a preemptive Level 2 response, which allowed for a swift response and the rescue of all occupants without casualties.
