CheongKwanJang announced on the 18th that its health drink 'Hongsamwon' surpassed annual sales of 100 billion KRW last year as a single brand, rising to the status of a mega brand.
Hongsamwon, launched in 1988, has been a representative health drink brand of CheongKwanJang loved consistently for over 30 years and is exported to more than 20 countries worldwide, pioneering the overseas health drink market. After 36 years since its launch, Hongsamwon has grown into a mega brand with annual sales exceeding 100 billion KRW, recording total sales of 103.2 billion KRW, including 47.7 billion KRW domestically and 55.5 billion KRW overseas, through the release of various new products and expansion of its global distribution network.
Hongsamwon, which is gaining more popularity overseas, is widely loved for its strength as a healthy energy drink without caffeine. CheongKwanJang cites a localized strategy as the key to Hongsamwon’s global growth. Last year, Hongsamwon achieved balanced growth compared to the previous year in all major export countries, recording sales growth rates of 158% in China, 144% in Southeast Asia, 122% in Japan, and 116% in the United States.
Hongsamwon is a product that contains the deep and rich flavor of red ginseng, embodying 126 years of CheongKwanJang’s expertise, and is carefully blended with plant ingredients such as cinnamon, jujube, ginger, and goji berries. In addition to 'Hongsamwon Gi (氣)', which includes reishi mushroom and deer antler, and 'Hongsamwon Gold', it features a diverse lineup including the zero-calorie 'Hongsamwon Delight' and 'Hongsamwon for Heating', both launched last year.
