View original imageHonam University announced on the 17th that Yoon Young, Director of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences (Department of Global Korean Language Education), along with doctoral students Kim Soyoung and Kim Hyejeong from the Graduate School's Department of Korean Language Education, attended the 17th International Conference of the Korean Language and Culture Education Association held at the Wagenkan, Fukakusa Campus of Ryukoku University in Japan on the 11th and 12th.
At the conference, Director Yoon Young and doctoral student Kim Soyoung gave a presentation on the topic "A Study on Regional-Based Korean Culture Education Methods," while doctoral student Kim Hyejeong presented on "A Study on Folktale Education Based on Cultural Literacy for Foreign Students with Academic Purposes."
The international conference was held over two days under the theme "Intercultural Exchange between Nations and Korean Language and Culture Education." It was hosted by the Korean Language and Culture Education Association and Ryukoku University in Japan, with support from the International Korean Language Education Foundation.
This international conference saw participation from ten countries, including Korea, Japan, Germany, the United States, Myanmar, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Turkiye, and Poland, with 47 presentations across 16 sessions.
Director Yoon Young stated, "To foster the next generation of scholars, we will continue to actively support doctoral students in presenting at academic conferences to enhance their research capabilities," adding, "Internally, we will also conduct various activities such as paper seminars and study groups."
