A mother who killed her baby after giving birth and abandoned the body in a plastic bag was arrested by the police.
On the 16th, the Wanju Police Station in Jeonbuk announced that they have detained and are investigating a woman in her 40s, identified as A, on charges of murder and corpse abandonment. A is suspected of killing her newborn baby at her home in Sang-gwan-myeon, Wanju-gun, on the morning of the 11th, then placing the body in a plastic bag and leaving it at the house.
The crime was uncovered during medical treatment at a hospital. A visited the hospital complaining of sudden bleeding, and medical staff, noticing signs of childbirth but no baby, became suspicious and reported it to the police. The police found the newborn inside a plastic bag at A’s residence and immediately arrested her.
