Two-Year-Old Girl Found Deceased in Seocheon: Biological Father Arrested for Fatal Assault
It has been revealed that a biological father assaulted his 2-year-old daughter, causing her death, and then abandoned her body on the apartment veranda for five months.
The Seocheon Police Station in Chungnam Province announced on the 14th that they plan to request an arrest warrant for Mr. A on charges including violation of the Child Abuse Punishment Act, child abuse resulting in death, and abandonment of a corpse, after he fatally beat his 2-year-old daughter in an apartment in Seocheon-eup.
The mother was not involved in the assault when Mr. A beat their daughter, and considering that she has to care for their other children, she was booked without detention.
According to the police, Mr. A fatally struck his 2-year-old daughter in the abdomen in early September last year after she cried and was fussy, and then abandoned her body on the apartment veranda for five months.
The director of the daycare center the 2-year-old girl attended confirmed that she had not been registered at any other daycare center after leaving in July last year and requested Seocheon County Office to locate her on the 13th. The county office then referred the case to the police for investigation.
At around 8:25 p.m. that day, police found the decomposed body on the veranda of Mr. A's apartment and urgently arrested the couple.
A police official stated, "We plan to request an arrest warrant for Mr. A on charges of fatally assaulting his daughter in September last year, and the mother has been booked without detention."
