Our country's National Assembly delegation attending the 'UN General Assembly Midterm Parliamentary Meeting' held in New York, USA, held talks with parliamentary delegations from various countries and delivered a letter from Speaker Woo Won-sik on the 13th (local time).
On that day, the delegation discussed ways to promote friendship and cooperation between the countries during a series of meetings with delegations from Sweden, Germany, and Canada, and exchanged mutual recognition of changes in the international situation since the inauguration of U.S. President Donald Trump.
They also requested that Speaker Woo's letter, which explains the firmness of Korea's democracy and economic system, be delivered to the speakers of each country's parliament.

View original imageIn response, Margareta Cederfelt, head of the Swedish delegation, said, "We hope that Korea's situation stabilizes quickly, and the process of overcoming the martial law situation in Korea is a model of democracy and impressive."
Volkmar Klein, head of the German delegation, also stated, "We highly appreciate Korea's democratic resilience." The Canadian delegation also promised to deliver the speaker's letter.
For this meeting, the National Assembly dispatched a delegation consisting of Lee Jae-jung, member of the Democratic Party of Korea (head), Cha Ji-ho, and Kwak Kyu-taek, member of the People Power Party.
