View original imageThe Asan City Council in Chungnam will hold the 5th Special Ethics Committee meeting on the 25th to conduct a disciplinary review of Chairperson Hong Seongpyo, who caused controversy by attending his alma mater's graduation ceremony while intoxicated.
On the 14th, the Ethics Committee held its 4th closed meeting in the Operations Committee Room at 3 p.m. and put the disciplinary discussion on the agenda.
Yoon Wonjun, Chairperson of the Ethics Committee, stated, "We have decided to require Chairperson Hong to submit an explanation by the end of this week," and added, "After hearing the review from the Ethics Advisory Committee, we plan to conduct the review at 2 p.m. on the 25th."
He continued, "However, it is possible that the review may not be completed in a single meeting."
Meanwhile, Chairperson Hong has not been reachable so far. He was also absent from the 1st plenary session of the 255th extraordinary meeting held on the 12th, taking a leave of absence.
