Chungnam Fire Department Conducts Training to Strengthen Chemical Accident Response Capabilities
The Chungnam Fire Headquarters has taken active steps to strengthen its response capabilities to chemical accidents, which have been occurring with increasing frequency in recent times.
On the afternoon of the 14th, the 119 Special Response Unit of the Chungnam Fire Headquarters conducted training and education (see photo) in cooperation with the National Fire Research Institute at the National Fire Research Institute located in Songak-myeon, Asan-si, to enhance response capabilities in the event of a chemical accident.
The training focused on various firefighting techniques and provided education and drills based on standardized reference materials for chemical accidents such as formalin leaks, aiming to improve the ability of field personnel to respond quickly to chemical incidents.
Lee Jujin, head of the 119 Special Response Unit at the Chungnam Fire Headquarters, stated, "Chemical accidents can result in significant casualties and severe environmental damage, so special attention must be paid to safety management," adding, "We will continue to do our best through ongoing education and thorough training to maximize our capabilities in the event of an actual situation."
