Fire at Non-Ferrous Metal Manufacturing Plant in Gimhae... Property Damage Worth 80 Million Won

View original imageAt 8:01 PM on the 13th, a fire broke out at a non-ferrous metal manufacturing factory in Sangdong-myeon, Gimhae-si, Gyeongnam.
According to the Gimhae East Fire Station, the fire destroyed 400㎡ inside the factory and caused soot damage over an area of 400㎡, resulting in an estimated property damage of approximately 80 million KRW.
There were workers inside the factory at the time of the fire, but no casualties occurred due to immediate evacuation.
Fire authorities, who responded after a report from a factory worker, controlled the large flames around 8:45 PM that day and completely extinguished the fire at 2:25 AM on the following day, the 14th.
At the scene, 71 firefighters, 46 firefighting vehicles including fire engines, and heavy equipment such as excavators were deployed.
The fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire and the extent of the property damage.
